Founders

Garry Groom, Sr.

Garry currently serves on the board of directors of First Oklahoma Holdings, Inc. and First Oklahoma Bank headquartered in Jenks, Oklahoma, and is a member of the Audit, ALCO, IT/ Facilities board committies. He also chairs the Enterprise Risk Management Committee. He was Chief Financial Officer and Chief Audit Executive before his retirement. He is a graduate of the Spears School of Business, Oklahoma State University, with a degree in Finance and Accounting, and holds professional designations as a Certified Fraud Examiner and Certified Financial Services Auditor.

Garry spent the majority of his long banking carreer as CFO and COO. He is an organizer of two de novo banks and managed five core data processing software and system conversions. He directed seven bank merger & acquisitions with $12.6 billion in aggregate assets, performing M&A due diligence, GAAP business combination accounting entries, post-closing transition and personnel integration. He directed numerous main and branch bank property acquisitions, as well as managing facilities construction/remodels. His experience preparing regulatory applications provide him in-depth knowledge of the demographic and financial requirements for branch application approval. He was lead point of contact with regulators overseeing over thirty bank and holding company examinations. He was also responsible for consolidated CPA full-scope audits and the accuracy of internal and regulatory financial reporting, as well as internal control adequacy.

Garry held the position of Chief Information Officer for a $1billion+ bank, responsible for bank's information technology and systems, including data security, disaster recovery, and strategic planning.

Community service includes instructor in Accounting Principles, Management Organization, and Managerial Finance courses at the college level. He served a two-year term on the OBA Fraud and Security Council. He also assisted the Tulsa Police Department, Fraud Division, with fraud and white collar crime investigations. Garry was recipient of the 2017 international ACFE "Outstanding Achievement in Outreach/Community Service" award. He served as officer or director of countless non-profit organizations, utilizing his management and technical skills to their benefit.
